Re: How do you get started doing henna?
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 5:29 AMGo to www.hennapage.com.
I've spent the last five months going through the how-tos and reading the encyclopedia information. There is a forum with so much helpful information and people willing to answer questions. The suppliers have top-quality henna and related supplies. It's a wonderful new world!

Re: How do you get started doing henna?
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 9:05 AMHi Bibia,
just jump right in , and read everything you can.
We sell a comprehensive kit that includes everything you need except for some bottled lemon juice .
The kit comes complete with mixing instructions, patterns, applicators, our email support address and lots of information.
I think it is the best one on the market because I helped make it up.And we get great feedback on it too.
We hope it does help people to learn henna and have good results the first time they try henna themselves.
If you can bake brownies from a box, you can mix henna for your own use.
You can practice with plain yogurt, or frosting on paper --- or other stuff until you feel confident to give the henna a try,.
Have fun with this new activity.

Re: How do you get started doing henna?
Mon, September 10, 2007 - 10:31 AMI also found the Loretta Roome book "Mehndi : The Timeless Art of Henna Painting" to be invaluable. I spent most of my first tries making my own mix, which is very fun, and just recently tried one of the pre-mixed tubes in a pinch. It worked out well, but I'm still hunting for the perfect application tool.
good luck! -

Mon, September 10, 2007 - 12:53 PMStart with body-art quality henna, from the hennafor hair website.
My two cents, start basic, some springwater a bit of lemonjuice and henna. See how you like the basicmix before you start experimenting with add-ons, and stick to it for the first few times.

Wed, September 19, 2007 - 8:12 AMMake sure you decide on the best henna powder that will work for you as well. Right now Jamila and Moroccan henna 2007 are amazing!!
I would suggest you start with a basic henna kit for sure. Enjoy!!
