Here are the details about the Henna classes and the Artist we have coming!
Mychele
Mychele, unbeknownst to her, began her henna training as a young girl getting in trouble for doodling on herself with pens and markers. Many years later, when she saw henna for the first time on a troupe of belly dancers, the magical connection was made. Her love of henna has taken her all over the United States learning and teaching the art of henna and its history, as well as creating her special recipe that is made with all natural ingredients and pure essential oils. Mychele has been commissioned and fashioned her creative henna designs on hundreds of patrons at the House of Blues, Walt Disney World, Gaylord Palms, The Peabody, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure and SeaWorld Orlando.
She has also toured from coast to coast with Simon d'Tour Live. Her specialty is in using henna to create an experience which includes re-laxation and stress relief through aromatherapy, life coaching, positive energy ex-change (which she calls "Henergy"), symbolic designs for health and healing, and making and using only her own henna for her clients. Mychele's ability to combine henna with her in depth knowledge of belly dancing, acting and stage make-up, has made her a favorite henna artist throughout the belly dancing community. Because she understands the unique needs of a performer, Mychele has become an expert at creating customized designs that capture the performers personality while enhancing their costumes, a spectacular combination.
Along with many local and regional belly dancers, Mychele has also been honored to be commissioned to create her henna de-signs for Carolina Nericcio of Fat Chance Belly Dance, Belly Dance Superstar Rachel Brice, Megha Gavin of Devyani Dance and Zymirrah of Urban Gypsy. She approaches her workshops with the same passion and positive energy, a powerful combination not to be missed.
You can visit her on the web and experience the beauty of her henna artwork at : www.mychele.net
Technique: Hands on Basics of Application and Making Your Own Paste
Journey into the mysterious world of henna, an ancient form of temporary body art. In this hands on class we will explore how henna is made, including how you can customize your henna paste to bring about good fortune, love, and health. We’ll continue our travels by learning “secrets” to creating professional looking henna art, even as a beginner. Then the fun really begins as you grab your henna cone to decorate yourself or a friend! This class is for everyone, no experience necessary. Each Student will leave with a Mini- Henna Making Kit - so you can continue your henna adventure at home!
Technique: More Intricate Designs and History
More veils are lifted as we continue our journey into the mysterious world of henna. In this hands on class we will be traveling deeper into more intricate and advanced henna designs while taking a look at their meanings and the folklore surrounding them. We’ll focus on what designs work best for performances, secrets of “breaking down” a complex design, where to place your henna, and how to compliment your costume with henna. Our henna tour will finish with you creating a beautiful henna design on yourself or a friend. **It is strongly recommended that you take Hands on Henna for Belly Dancers- Basic Designs and Making Henna Paste OR that you have had some henna experience using cones.
